How this plays out in our current state of affairs is that many have been fooled by the perpetuation of this lie, this myth that we have a sovereign and inherent right to pursue our own happiness without regard to consequences. It is -fundamentally- this belief, this lie that has allowed a handful of families to continue pursuing their own comfort and security by convincing us all that we could do the same, but we have chosen not to.
We have a whole bunch of “grown-up” looking people with both guns and unlimited resources who are actually very naughty children who do not want to share. We have succumbed to the bullies. How can this be?
Those with more privilege will come to your aid, because you are good and we marginalized folks are bad, right? I have news for you today. Just as you are not coming to our aid, you can be certain, they are not coming to yours. In fact, they’ve tied you to the train tracks to buy themselves more time.
